Did you know that Dachshunds are really Four-Legged Explorers?
If you are searching for a unique Rochester adventure this spring, just follow those intrepid 4-legged explorers to the dachshund parade. This year the 22nd Annual Rochester Dachshund Parade in Washington Square Park, 181 S. Clinton Ave., Rochester, NY 14607 (across from GEVA theater) begins on Saturday, May 11 at 10 AM and ends at Noon. There will be songs and oompah music, a fashion show, dog and people treats, networking for dachshunds (sniffing, exploring, etc.) and their humans, followed by the parade at approximately 11:30 AM.
This year we have official parade long sleeved tee-shirts in steel blue and team purple. We accept both credit cards and cash for all parade merchandise, with a portion of the proceeds going to support Rochester Hope for Pets and the Verona Street Animal Society. There will also be a variety of vendors offering a full array of dachshund-themed items. The “official” parade hot dog provider, Dave’s Sidewalk Café, will return; and once again our sound will be provided by Keyboard Repair. This year there will also be representatives on hand from the newly opened Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services.
