13th Annual Rochester Dachshund Parade on May 10, 2014

Mark your calendars! Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 10:00 AM to Noon in Washington Square Park, 181 S. Clinton Ave., Rochester, NY 14604 (across from GEVA). Convenient parking can be found at Washington Square Ramp Garage.

Can you believe it -- the Rochester Dachshund Parade turns 13 this year. You could even say, "We're not a kid anymore!" But all the kids are invited along with the moms and dads and grandparents to enjoy the magnificent sight of wiener dogs on parade in the heart of the city. It's been a long, cold, snowy winter, so come out and enjoy one of Rochester's rites of spring and the Parade's lucky 13th!

For 2014 we have embroidered parade T-shirts in two different colors for an $18 donation as well as embroidered parade towels for $15 (cash only please), with a portion of the proceeds going to support Rochester Hope for Pets and the Verona Street Animal Society. There will also be a variety of vendors offering handcrafted dachshund-themed items as well as free pet treats provided by Pet Saver Superstore.

New this year will be a Memory Book for collecting photos and remembrances of all the dachshunds we have loved and lost.

Our parade is partially underwritten by Monroe Veterinary Associates. There will be dog health information available from Veterinary Specialists of Rochester and Animal Emergency Service and from TheraVet Acres with special focus on the needs of dachshunds with back problems. The “official” parade hot dog provider, Dave’s Sidewalk Café, will return, and this year our sound will be provided by Keyboard Repair.
